La Mirada High School students and city staff completed Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training on September 19.

The CERT graduates are now ready to assist emergency personnel with disaster response activities following an event.

CERT is a FEMA-supported volunteer program that provides residents with training in basic disaster response skills to help their communities during emergencies when professional responders are overwhelmed.
