A banner went up recently announcing Tanner’s Coffee will be opening in La Mirada at 11521 La Mirada Boulevard in the shopping center at the southwest corner at Leffingwell Road (old school name-the L & L Center).
They currently have one other location in Playa Del Rey. They offer coffees, espresso, teas, matcha, cold brews, specialty & seasonal drinks along with smoothies and other blended drinks. Hungry? Grab a bagel or croissant sandwich, or a specialty toast or a pastry.
One reviewer on Yelp says, “It’s a laidback, surfing and water-themed coffee spot with comfy couches, surfboards, and knives adorning the walls and ceiling. The best cherry chai around.”
In other news, located in the same shopping center, next door as a matter of fact, Chris Rahder, owner of Krunch Burger, told us they will be opening a second La Mirada location at the Valley View Square in the former Alberto’s building at the southeast corner of Imperial Highway and Valley View Avenue. The building housed an Arby’s for many years and way before that, back in the day in a different building, it is the site of the iconic Tastee Freez.
He told us plans are already underway for any construction needed and they will be entering negotiations for a lease with the landlord soon.
The original location will not be affected and will remain open.
Speaking of the Valley View Square, it seems 7 Leaves Cafe’s opening next door to the closed Alberto’s has run into a little snag.
The building which formerly housed a Walgreens Pharmacy, already has a functioning drive-thru within its design. However, it seems converting from a pharmacy to a cafe’ causes complications and gets city hall all weirded-out, but we feel confident that it will be worked out quickly and the new 7 Leaves Cafe’ can open soon.
And finally, back to the L & L Center, where we have learned a new dog grooming facility will opening at either at 14936 or 14938 Leffingwell Road.
We need a full service Restaurant that has B.L.D. menus
La Mirada needs more coffee and tea shops.
