We then walked to Wall Street and took a picture near the famous bull we always see in the movies.  There were a lot of business people in ties walking everywhere.  We ate lunch at Wall Street then walked a few short blocks to Ground Zero.  This place was very sad.  Even though it was very busy with construction workers, we passed by Fire Station 10 where a huge Memorial wall was dedicated to the 343 fire fighter that died, many of them from Engine 10, it was sad.  People passing by were all shaking the hands of the fire fighters working there.  Then we went to St. Paul’s Church a block away that had many banners and letters from around the world for the City of New York.  This place was amazing because not one tomb stone or part of the church was damaged when the twin towers collapsed.  The fire fighters also used the church as a place to sleep between shifts.

Later, we jumped back on our motor coach and dropped off at Chinatown for some shopping.  I got some pretty cheap souveniers here.  I got my mom a sweatshirt and and my sister a I love New York Shirt.  My older brother got a New York Cap and my little brother also got a New York t-shirt.  Two hours later we got back in the motor coach to the hotel where we began to get ready for dinner and Phantom of the Opera.

We met at the lobby at 5:45, to go to dinner at Hurley’s.  I wore beige pants, a black dress shirt with a beige tie.  For dinner, Andrew, Logan and I had sword fish with and baked potato.  Anna, Savannah and Kristen all had the sphagetti.  I was upset because the meals for our table came very late and when everyone else was having dessert, we were barely having dinner.  But the dinner was just OK, I’ve had better.

We then walked to 5 blocks to see the Phantom of the Opera.  I really was excited to see this “classical masterpiece”, as my mom and dad say.  We sat in the mezzanine level, another word for nose bleed section, but the sound was good.  It started and ended exciting, but sadly, I was so tired that I fell asleep for about 20 minutes and missed some good parts.  I found out that several other of my friends also fell asleep but not because it was boring but because we were all so tired.  I really do recommend everyone to see this musical because it was really good.

After the show, we walked two blocks to Times Square and took a group picture.  The group was given the choice to go to the hotel or shop at Time Square.  It was 11:30 and I was too tired so went back to the hotel.  The rest of the group came back at 12:30 am.  They said they shopped at Forever 21 and Lids.

All in all, the day was too good to be true.  We visited some of the most famous areas of the world and it couldn’t have been better.  I would really like to come back to New York again.

I am looking forward to our final day of the trip.

Stay tuned…
