In addition to the reduction in federal funding for La Mirada's transportation projects, Robinson added that the city requested $175,000 less from the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Authority (MTA) because of one-time funding.
"[The money] was used for vehicle replacement and capital maintenance and it's down because we have fewer vehicles in the fleet in the current year," he said.
In addition to federal funds from the stimulus program and grants from the MTA, the funds for La Mirada Transit and transportation improvements come from various sources, including local sales taxes passed by the voters that fund projects throughout Los Angeles County.
Robinson said that the city would like to apply for more money to fund dial-a-ride and road improvements if more options were available.
"We'd be happy to apply for more money if it were available, but most of it isn't because it was one-time money," he said.
