The Nazis, realizing that this did not achieve their goal of “racial purity” of white Northern Europeans, decided that the only solution was to rid the world to “inferior races,” namely, the Jews as well as the Roma (Gypsies) and Slavs, political and religious dissidents, the handicapped, the mentally ill, and gays and lesbians.

Temples Beth Ohr, of La Mirada, Beth Israel, of Pomona, and Beth Tikvah, of Fullerton, are coming together on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 7:30 PM at Temple Beth Ohr, 15721 E. Rosecrans Ave., La Mirada, 90638, to hold a commemorative ceremony honoring the memories of those murdered by the Nazis.

In addition, Temple Beth Ohr will welcome to its congregation a Czech Survivor Torah Scroll. The Torah Scroll, containing the Five Books of Moses, is from a community whose members were entirely murdered by the Nazis. “This “orphan Torah Scroll” will find a home in Temple Beth Ohr where the scroll will be used on special holidays and by Bar/Bat Mitzvah students.

The students will have an intimate connection to this murdered community and this community will have life in this congregation and in the memory of our students,” said Rabbi Mark Goldfarb, the Rabbi of Temple Beth Ohr.
The community is invited to attend. For more information, please contact Rabbi Mark Goldfarb, Temple Beth Ohr, 15721 E. Rosecrans Ave., La Mirada, CA 90638. 714-521-6765. www.templebethohr.com.
