Troy 21 Bellflower 17: The agony of defeat is sitting right now with the Bellflower Buccaneers who where seemingly on their way to their first victory. All they had to do was hang onto the ball. Then a fumble came and Troy went down the field and scored the go ahead TD. The Buccaneers looked deflated after the game. The bright spot for the Buccaneers was that QB Jeremy Allen scored two rushing TD's. TB Benny Perez had over 100 yards rushing.

Kennedy 30 Mayfair 25: The Monsoons offense was nowhere to be found in the first half, managing to score only six points; and their defense was no better giving up 30. Coach Fitch must have rallied the troops at halftime, because they came out fired up. They fought hard and played better, but too little too late, and the Soon's dropped their fourth in a row. Keith Harvey ran hard and scored two TD's.

Rancho Alamitos 43 Cerritos 21: The Dons still have the streak going and they are really getting tired of it, and it is still lingering over their head. The Vaqueros QB Mike Frank threw or five TD's as he torched the Don's secondary for 351 yards. The Dons got a strong effort from Aaron Francis as he ran for over 120 yards. This was a really tough game for the Don's as they looked shocked from the outset. They have been only suiting less than 35 players, and they are not playing well. I hope that they can get a win soon.

Gahr 44 Artesia 7: The Pioneers are showing that they are definitely not the team that they where last year. They are struggling to score points this season, where last year their team seemed to score at will. Gahr QB Casey Nielsen threw all over the Pioneers as he topped the 300-yard mark. The Milk Can now goes to Gahr after it was with the Pioneers for a year. New Head Coach Aaron Craver is still searching for his first Victory.

Week 4 Preview:

LEAGUE STARTS!!! IT'S ALL OR NOTHING

Bellflower @ Norwalk: The Buccaneers are in for a tough task trying to stop the rushing attack of the Lancers, who have destroyed all of their opponents. This should be a blow out and the Lancers look like the team to beat in the Suburban League. The Buccaneers are still trying to put it together. I look for Norwalk to run for 400 yards and run away with the game early. Their offensive line is physical and big, and likes to pancake defenders.

Norwalk 54 Bellflower 6

Cerritos @ Mayfair: The Dons who are searching for their first win, will definitely not get it this week, when they play the defending league champions who have been getting beat up on, and are looking to dish out some punishment, but most important get in the win column.

Mayfair 35 Cerritos 7

Artesia vs. Villa Park: This is going to be an interesting game. Coach Dusan Ancich coached at Cerritos for several years so he knows the Artesia offense pretty well; and with the offense struggling for the Pioneers, this may be a recipe for disaster. I look for the Pioneers to put up a good fight, but for the fourth game in a row, they come away with a loss.

Villa Park 28 Artesia 7

La Mirada @ John Glenn: This is my bubble game this week, because someone's bubble will pop, and they will find themselves in the bottom half of league looking up and trying to earn one of the four playoff spots. The Matadores offense is balanced, and they have a solid offensive line, while the Eagles have a solid pass defense, and they can play the run well. There is a lot at stake not just for the teams, but also for former Eagle and current Matadore TB Matt Haltom, who may have something to prove to his former teammates. This one should be close one but I give the edge to the visiting Matadores. The Eagles last defeated the Matadors in 1990.

La Mirada 35 John Glenn 28

League Predictions: At this point in the season, all of the teams have at least three games in the books, and I feel I can make a better prediction of who will win league. In my initial prediction I stated that I felt Mayfair had the best opportunity to win league. I was pretty close in assuming who the top teams would be coming out of the pre-league schedules. So let's jump right in. These are my updated predictions and where the teams will finish.

Norwalk: They should go 6-0 and be the league champion; they have a bruising running game and they play solid defense. I look for them to roll over La Mirada, Glenn, Artesia, Cerritos, and Bellflower. But the league title will be decided on in the very last week as the Lancers will beat the Monsoons and win the league title.

6-0,First place in League (10-0 overall)

Mayfair: Will rebound from a tough pre-league schedule, and they will pound everyone in the Suburban league, and roll into their date with destiny, as they face the Lancers of Norwalk for the league title. The Monsoons however, come away empty handed, and they are shocked as they lose their first league game in 8 years.

5-1, Second place in league (5-5 overall)

La Mirada:  The Matadores get back to the top half of the league standings as Coach Moschetti shows his team is much improved from last year. The Matadors beat up on Cerritos, Bellflower, Artesia, and Glenn. Then they get hammered by Mayfair and Norwalk for the second year in a row.

4-2, Third place in league (7-3 overall)

John Glenn: The eagles play hard and fight valiantly in their first three games against La Mirada, Mayfair, and Norwalk. But they lose two close games and get blown out in the other. They bounce back, and Coach Wilson rights the ship; and the Eagles finish by winning their last three games of the season.

3-3, Fourth place in league (6-4 overall)

Artesia: It's been a tough year for the pioneers as they struggle and have only two wins in league. Coach Craver tries to figure out where he went wrong, and rebuild for the following year. The bright spot for the Pioneers is Junior TB Jalen Craver.

2-4, Fifth place in league (2-8 overall)

Bellflower: The Buccaneers began the year with a lot of optimism, but that has quickly faded as they drop all of their league games leading up to their Oct. 30 showdown with the winless Dons of Cerritos.

1-5, Sixth place in league (1-9 overall)

Cerritos:  The Dons who have not won a game since October 19, 2007, continue their losing ways as they extend their beaten streak to 23 games. They have one win in their last 30 tries. They struggle all year long, but play a few games close.

0-6, Seventh place in league (0-10 overall)

Final Thoughts: This is it we have been waiting for, as the league teams have either been playing tough pre-league schedules or soft ones. The contenders are present and we now know who the pretenders are. This will be a good week for league, I feel an upset coming, but I won't predict it, because I don't know which game it will come in. I wish you all much success; and stay injury free.
