Local dignitaries in attendance include, but not limited to: La Mirada Mayor Steve Jones and his wife, Janis; Councilman Larry Mowles and wife Paula; Councilman Steve DeRuse and his wife Maryann; Councilwoman Pauline Deal and her husband Jeff; former Councilmen Hal Malkin and his wife Barbara; along with Pete Dames and Art Leslie, also former council members. If we missed a spouse or two, we apologize.

Also in attendance were Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School Board Trustees Karen Morrison and Jesse Urquidi, along with former members Lorraine Neal and Pat Ruiz.

Members of the Positive Alternative Club, along with many others helped out.

The grand prize TV set winner was Marcy Mannan and the 50/50 winner was Edna Owens.

The TV was donated by Dr. Gerald Roodzant, Reed Taylor, Ronnie Knight, and Piltz.

Note: Many of you have asked about longtime La Mirada Kiwanian Reed Taylor who was taken away by emergency personnel after suffering a dizzy spell, at the start of the event. Mr. Taylor is doing well after a couple of days rest and we expect him back in action soon!
