A shooting occurred shortly after noon Friday in the 12700 block of Valley View Avenue at the Mirada West shopping center.

The incident took place in front or near Unique Glam Cosmetics, causing one of the windows to be shattered at the business.

The male victim staggered along the sidewalk and collapsed near Yum Yum Donuts. He was then taken away by ambulance, condition unknown.

Witnesses on the scene say an argument ensued in front of the laundromat and escalated when a possible blue vehicle returned to the scene with an accomplice, causing one combatant to pull out a knife. The other allegedly returned to the nearby vehicle to retrieve a firearm.
