“I am excited to be coordinating the first La Mirada Walk for Childhood Apraxia of Speech in support of our six-year-old daughter, Erika. CASANA has been an invaluable support for us since Erika was first diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS). Now, four years later, and after close to 500 hours of speech therapy, Erika is talking up a storm and often can even be understood by strangers. She still has a long way to go but we are so proud of her efforts and progress, and tremendously thankful for all the support we have received along the way,” says Mrs. Wetzel.

The La Mirada Walk for Children with Apraxia of Speech is open to all adults and children. On-site registration and check-in on October 19th begins at 10:00 AM, with the Walk starting at 11:00 AM.  Anyone interested in registering, making a donation, or learning more about the event can contact lauraswetzel@aol.com or visit the event website at http://secure.apraxia-kids.org/lamiradawalk.
