Bautista said, “If McDonald’s wasn’t putting in a drive-through we wouldn’t be here tonight. We could of have handled all of this administratively.”

The new proposed restaurant is planned-out to include seating for 66 patrons inside and eight outside and is proposed to be about 600 square feet smaller than the existing Carriage.

After the meeting Johnson told the La Mirada Blog, “We’ll have to go back and think about it and see where we go. Right now, we’re going to have to try and understand what we need to do and get it done and move forward.”

Johnson said McDonald’s will more than likely do a study and he doesn’t anticipate any problems in moving the project forward.

Another public hearing is likely to be scheduled after the traffic study is completed.
