Aggravated Assault-An assault was reported on the 14900 block of Leffingwell Rd. A male adult was shot in the leg but survived. The incident remains under investigation. In the early morning of Feb. 16, Deputies responded to reports of gunshots on the 13400 block of Bona Vista Lane. No victims were found after an investigation of the location. However a short time later, Whittier PD reported that an adult male, possibly a victim connected to the shooting, was dropped off at Presbyterian Intercommunity Hospital by unknown person(s). The victim died from a gunshot wound. The incident remains under investigation. Vehicle Burglary-A window smash burglary was reported on the 14700 block of Borego Dr. A purse was stolen from the vehicle. Tools were stolen from a vehicle's storage compartment in a burglary on the 13000 block of Meadow Green Rd. A third row seat was reported stolen from a vehicle on the 15700 block of Elmbrook Dr. A window smash burglary was reported on the 14500 block of Stage Rd. A wallet and other items were taken from the vehicle. A burglary was reported on the 15100 block of Elmbrook Dr. The incident remains under investigation. A burglary was reported on the 15100 block of Badlona Dr. GPS, checkbooks, and miscellaneous items taken from the vehicle were recovered by Deputies.

Grand Theft Vehicle-A truck was reported stolen from the 14700 block of Firestone Blvd. The vehicle was recovered the same day by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). A vehicle was reported stolen from La Mirada Blvd. and Rosecrans Ave. It was recovered two days later by La Mirada Deputies. An attempted vehicle theft was reported on the 14600 block of Rosecrans Ave. A suspect was taken into custody in connection with the incident. An attempted vehicle theft occurred on the 14400 block of Artesia Blvd. The incident is under investigation. A vehicle reported stolen from LAPD jurisdiction was recovered on the 12900 block of Woodridge Ave. A grand theft was reported on the 16800 block of Trojan Wy. Rims and tires were stolen off a semi trailer. An older model Acura was reported stolen from the 15200 block of Matisse Circle. A vehicle was reported stolen from the 16500 block of Blackburn Dr. The vehicle was recovered several days later by the San Bernardino Sheriff's Department with minor strip damage. An attempted vehicle theft of a cargo van was reported on the 14600 block of Calpella St. A vehicle previously reported stolen from La Mirada was recovered on the 14800 block of Beach Blvd.
