Fall Celebrations: Faith, Culture, and Community

Learn about cultures and faiths around the world through their fall celebrations. Explore food traditions during Rosh Hashanah, Diwali, and the Moon Festival, then use paper to create a plate of foods eaten on special occasions. For ages 8 - 12.

Shake it up!

Friday, November 08-4:00pm - 5:00pm

Have fun with your toddler as they explore music and learning through movement. Toddlers will enjoy using objects and instruments as they move to different rhythms. Enjoy time with the shakers and toddler instruments after the program. Recommended for children ages 2-4 with their parent or caregiver. No registration required. Space and materials are limited.

Native American Heritage Month: Strawberry Cross Stitch

Thursday, November 14-4:00pm - 5:00pm

Strawberries are more than just tasty berries. Come find out how important they are to different Native American cultures while we honor this plant with a fun cross stitch activity. For teens ages 13 – 17. Attendance is limited, and advance registration is required. Please register every individual in your party. This will be used to save your spots in the program. Read to A Dog

Friday, November 15-3:00pm - 3:30pm

Practice your reading skills by reading aloud to a trained therapy dog and volunteer handler from the Pet Prescription Team! For ages 7-12 with a parent or caregiver. Attendance is limited. No registration required. Parent permission is required.

Kimchi Making with Chef Yoon Hee Kim

Saturday, November 16-2:00pm - 3:30pm

Celebrate National Kimchi Day by making kimchi, the national dish of Korea! This program will be lead by Chef Yoon Hee Kim in partnership with the Korean Cultural Center, Los Angeles. Program is open to adults and families. Attendance is limited, and advance registration is required. Please register every individual in your party. This will be used to save your spots in the program. Book Adventure: "Shaped by Her Hands: Potter Maria Martinez"

Join us to honor Native American Heritage Month. Learn about the life of world-renowned potter

Maria Martinez of San Ildefonso Pueblo as we read aloud the book "Shaped by Her Hands: Maria Martinez" by Anna Harber Freeman. For children 6 and up.

Smarty Pants Storytime
