WR-Dijon Barnes Jr. Bellflower: The kid is a monster of an athlete at 6’4’’ who will undoubtedly get a lot of attention this year after being one of the league leaders in receiving.
OL-Isaac Luatua Sr. La Mirada: Roll TIDE! He is a monster on the line; strong, athletic, will be the anchor of the offensive line this year. I look for big things from this Alabama recruit.
OL-Bryan Peters Sr. La Mirada: The Kansas Jayhawks commit will be protecting the blind side of the teams QB this year; looks to be more than ready for the challenge.
OL-Justin Northern Sr. Mayfair: Looks to help lead Mayfair back to the glory days that it once had, and pave the way to a league title.
OL-Robert Durazo Sr. John Glenn: One of the more underrated linemen in the Suburban League; played all over the line and is receiving interest from some of the Ivy League schools and the service academies.
OL-Toliniu Faamatau Sr. Norwalk: This kid is remarkably strong. This summer, at a linemen contest, he bench pressed 185 lbs. 29 times, and power cleaned 185, 25 times. Definitely a key component to Norwalk’s offensive line and the 3000-plus yards they ran for last season.
Preseason ALL SUBURBAN LEAGUE DEFENSE:
DL-Cooper Weatherly Sr. La Mirada: Looking to keep the non-stop motor of his going this season and end up with double-digit sack totals; looks to help lead a veteran defensive Line.
DL-EJ Galvez Sr. La Mirada: Committed to the University of Nevada-Reno as an offensive linemen, but I was thoroughly impressed with his relentless attacking on defense. I think he will be a defensive end at the next level.
DL-Jason Salesulu Jr. Bellflower: This is a kid who has a lot of potential. Thrown into the fire early last season, he thrived along the d-line and will look to be a bright spot for his team this season as they look to get back to the playoffs.
DL-John Pale Sr. Mayfair: Looking to get rid of the sour taste left in his mouth after taking third last season in league; wants to be a terror on the line for all opposing offenses.
LB-Bryan Kvapil Jr. Mayfair: Looking to improve upon his sophomore campaign in which he had over 100 tackles and was a wrecking ball all over the field.
LB-Rodney Purvis Jr. Bellflower: Will definitely be a bright spot on this year’s team and is someone that can change a game for the Bucs I look for him to expand on his role from last season, and to be the game changing force the Bucs need at LB.
LB-James Martinez Sr. Norwalk: Was thrust into action when injuries mounted for the Lancers last season, but this campaign look for him to develop more tools, allowing him to get better.
DB-Austin Washington Sr. Artesia: The only returning DB at Artesia that has potential to be a game breaker. He has big shoes to fill in replacing Travon Payne, but is more than capable of doing so.
DB-Theo Chambers Sr. Mayfair: The Monsoons ball hawk is able to patrol the middle of the field. and make QB’s pay when they make mistakes. He recently verbally committed to Southern Missouri. I see big things out of this guy in the future.
DB-Max Gama Sr. La Mirada: This is a versatile safety who can cover and come up and play near the line of scrimmage. He is committed right now to Washington State University and is looking to make an impact this year for the Mats Defense.
DB-Aaryn Bouzos Sr. La Mirada: The last of the quintuplets at La Mirada that are already verbally committed to Division 1 programs. He is trying to be the next in a great line of Nebraska Cornhuskers. I think that his versatility is what the Huskers covet and he is definitely a big piece of La Mirada’s defense this coming year.
