A quick-moving upper level low with cold unstable air is expected to affect the La Mirada area through Monday. Rainfall less than an inch, but system bringing very cold air and snow to local mountains. Beginning Tuesday, clear sunny, warm skies return to La Mirada.

Third Installment of McCoy-Rigby Series Now Playing at LM Theatre
La Mirada~La Mirada Theatre for the Performing arts & McCoy/Rigby Entertainment present the third production of their 2010-2011 season of shows – the heavenly, ‘Til Death Do Us Part: Late Nite Catechism 3', starring everyone’s favorite Sister – Maripat Donovan, written by Maripat Donovan with Marc Silvia and directed by Marc Silvia."Late Nite" opened on Friday, January 28th, 2011 (with a press opening on Saturday, January 29) and is running through Sunday, February 13th at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts, 14900 La Mirada Blvd in La Mirada.
After teaching countless students all about the saints, venial sins, guilt, limbo and more, Sister is now offering up her hilarious lessons on the Sacraments of Marriage and Last Rites, including her own wacky version of The Newlywed Game in this latest class to be unveiled in the sinfully funny series.
Classroom participation is a must, so bring along your sweetie and your sense of humor for some quality time with Sister, the feistiest new couples counselor in town. As always, each performance is unique and will appeal to people of all ages and faiths!
Fire Contained to La Mirada Transit Vehicle
La Mirada~A fire was reported on Phoebe Avenue in La Mirada on Tuesday night.
The fire was contained to one of the city's Transit/Dial-a-Ride vehicles. Some of the the vehicles are apparently stored indoors in a commercial building.
The fire was extinguished and no buildings were affected, according to Cpt. Berry of La Mirada Fire Station 49.
The fire was adjacent/near the city yard and Phantom Projects Theatre Group offices.

Ice Skate at Splash! Through February 21st
La Mirada~La Mirada's eco-friendly synthetic ice rink offers a brand new adventure at Splash! La Mirada Regional Aquatics Center. From now through February 21, ice skate Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Several special promotions are also being offered-call for details.

An Exciting La Mirada Ebell Meeting Planned

Former council member to create magical moments for Ebell agenda
La Mirada~"Magic and Memories" will be the theme of the next La Mirada Ebell meeting set for 7 p.m. tonight, in Room 1, La Mirada City Hall, 13700 La Mirada Blvd.
Louis Piltz, former La Mirada Mayor, will share with attendees, his love of travel as he recounts the many places his family has visited since his retirement from active community life. Piltz also will recreate some of the magical moments he shares frequently with Magic Castle audiences.
President Doris Thompson reminds area women to consider La Mirada Ebell membership if interested in service to the community. Ebell's 2010-11 goal is to assist local students financially in their quest for higher educations.
