Five Below, the popular discount retailer known for its trendy, high-quality products priced at $5 or less, is bringing its unique shopping experience to the city with a brand-new store at 15743 Imperial Hwy in Green Hills Plaza/Northwest.

The store will host a soft opening on Tuesday, February 25, ahead of its official grand opening on Friday, February 28 at 9:30 a.m.

Known for catering to tweens, teens, and beyond, Five Below offers an exciting mix of novelty items, games, toys, tech gadgets, and more.

The soft opening will give eager shoppers a sneak peek at the store’s offerings, allowing the community to explore the aisles before the official celebration.

“We’re thrilled to bring Five Below to La Mirada,” said a company spokesperson. “This new location is all about delivering extreme value and fun finds to our customers. We can’t wait to see the community come out, explore, and discover everything we have in store for them.”

Residents have raised concerns recently regarding the apparent expansion of "discount" stores in town, particularly at this intersection-Imperial Highway and Santa Gertrudes Avenue.

In response, the City passed an emergency ordinance this past December that implemented "a temporary moratorium on the establishment, operation, and expansion of discount stores effective immediately to study the impact of these establishments and develop thoughtful zoning and regulatory policies to ensure alignment with La Mirada's community standards and development goals."

Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Five Below has over 1,700 stores in 44 states.
