When finished, improvements to the intersection will include an additional left-hand turn lane from northbound Valley View to westbound Alondra , resulting in two turn lanes, and the elimination of the traffic "island"; and also the  lengthening of the left-hand turn lane from westbound Alondra to southbound Valley View.

Motorists are urged to follow detour signage and plan alternate routes in advance.

The project is expected to last until mid-May barring any weather delays.

When this project is complete, other projects in the general area will take place, including the repaving of Valley View from the I-5 south to Artesia Blvd and repaving in the Valley View/Rosecrans Avenue area.
