Commissioners and committee members frequently advise the City Council on a wide range of topics.  Advisory Body members analyze, assess and make recommendations regarding modifications and enhancements to City programs and services.

"La Mirada is very fortunate to have many actively involved residents in the community," said City Clerk Anne Haraksin.  "As a result, this is expected to be a competitive process.  Not all applicants will be selected but their willingness to serve is commended."

Applicants must be a La Mirada resident in order to be considered, with the exception of the Community Services Foundation, whose members can also be business persons operating in the community. All selected members must adhere to the City's policies and procedures including ethics, attendance and dress code.
