E-Watch is Valuable Tool forTracking Crime in Your Neighborhood
La Mirada~During the past year, the City of La Mirada has continued to experience one of the lowest crime rates in the region and has remained one of the safest cities in Los Angeles County.
Major crimes decreased by 34 percent from 1,134 in 2008 to 756 in 2009. The number of arrests increased by 24 percent, from 1,105 arrests made in 2008 to 1,368 arrests in 2009. The recent drop continues a five year trend in which major crimes have fallen by 46 percent.

BREAKING NEWS-Vons Closing in La Mirada
Arbys La Mirada across the street closes recently also.
La Mirada~It's official. After a year of speculation, the Vons Supermarket at 12710 Valley View (at Imperial) is scheduled to close March 27th.
The store has been there since 1968-42 years. This site predicted the store would close last April.
All Vons employees will be tranfered to other locations.
This has to be considered a blow to the other tenants in the Mirada West Center. Probably the most underated center in La Mirada, the center has long been one of the most consistent sales-tax providers to the city's coffers, despite many obstacles.
