CRIME REPORT: Vehicles Main Targets for Thieves

The following is the crime report for La Mirada November 7-13

Aggravated Assault

One aggravated assault was reported last week. The suspect was known to the victim. The victim was non-desirous of prosecution.

Vehicle Burglary

Five vehicle burglaries were reported last week. Burglaries were reported on the 12000 block of La Mirada Blvd. and 15100 block of Alondra Blvd. In these incidents, the victim's identification and personal information were stolen. A GPS/Stereo system was stolen from a vehicle on the 14300 block of Firestone Blvd. Various items were stolen from vehicles on the 16000 block of Avenida San Miguel and 14700 block of Alondra Blvd

CRIME REPORT: Biola Avenue Hot Spot for Thefts

La Mirada Crime Report October 31- November 6, 2011

Robbery

A robbery was reported near Excelsior Dr. and La Mirada Blvd. Deputies took three suspects into custody in connection with the incident.

Aggravated Assault

Two aggravated assaults were reported last week. An assault was reported on the 14900 block of Valeda Dr. One suspect was arrested. An unknown suspect assaulted a male at a business on the 14900 block of Leffingwell Rd.

Residential Burglary

A burglary was reported on the 12100 block of Tanfield Dr. Several watches were stolen from the home. A laptop computer was reported stolen from an apartment on the 16100 block of Rosecrans Ave.

Other Structure Burglary

A tool storage locker was reported burglarized on the 13800 block of Biola Ave.

UPDATE: Morrison, Pflanzer, Urquidi Lead in School Race

Norwalk~Incumbent Karen Morrison, Chris Pflanzer and Jesse Urquidi have captured the three setats up for grabs in the Norwalk-La Mirada School Board race, beating out the only other candidiate, Diane Gramajo.

CRIME REPORT: Laptop and TV Stolen In LM

The following is the crime report for La Mirada October 24-30

Aggravated Assault

An assault was reported on the 13800 block of Bora Dr. The incident is still under investigation.

Residential Burglary

Two burglaries were reported last week. Two televisions were stolen from a residence on the 13100 block of El Moro Ave. A laptop computer was stolen from a dorm room on the 13300 block of La Mirada Blvd. An attempted residential burglary was reported on the 12800 block of Breezewood Dr.

Vehicle Burglary

Three vehicle burglaries were reported last week. A burglary occurred on the 15900 block of Bluefield Ave. Tools were stolen from a locked storage compartment on the vehicle. A burglary was reported on the 15000 block of Cheshire St. The door handle on the vehicle was broken in order to gain entry. A car stereo face plate was stolen from a vehicle on the 15200 block of Barnwall St.

Grand Theft Vehicle

An older model Honda was reported stolen from the 13000 block of Sunnybrook Lane. The vehicle was later recovered the same day a short distance away.

The following is the crime report for La Mirada October 17-23, 2011:

Robbery

A robbery was reported near the intersection of Rosecrans Ave. and Valley View Ave. A small amount of cash and a MP3 player were stolen.

Aggravated Assault

An assault occurred near Adoree St. and Duffield Ave. The incident is still under investigation.

Residential Burglary

Two burglaries were reported last week. An incident was reported on the 11800 block of Goldendale Dr. A second burglary was reported on the 14100 block of Foster Rd. Cash and jewelry were stolen from both homes.

CRIME REPORT: Five Grand Thefts Occur in LM Last Week

The following is the crime report for La Mirada October 10-16, 2011

Aggravated Assault

Two assaults were reported. An assault was reported on the 15100 block of Alicante Rd. It is still under investigation. A domestic assault was reported on the 14500 block of Stage Rd.

Residential Burglary

Two burglaries were reported at a residence on the 14600 block of Fairvilla Dr. The two incidents occurred two months apart.

Other Structure Burglary

Two separate thefts from gym lockers were reported on the 13300 block of Beach Blvd. Various personal items were taken in both thefts.

Vehicle Burglary

Four vehicle burglaries were reported last week. A burglary occurred on the 15200 block of Badlona Dr. A window smash burglary was reported on the 12800 block of Oakwood Lane. A purse was stolen in that incident. A second window smash burglary was reported on the 13300 block of Kilkenny Court. Stereo and golf equipment were stolen from a vehicle on the 15900 block of Alicante Rd.

La Mirada~The following is the crime report for La Mirada the week of October 3-9, 2011:

Residential Burglary

Two residential burglaries were reported last week. An incident occurred on the 11700 block of Gayview Dr. A second burglary was reported on the 12700 block of Biola Ave. Jewelry was stolen in both incidents.

Other Structure Burglary

A burglary was reported on the 13300 block of Hillsborough Drive. Several plants were stolen.

Elderly Woman Struck and Killed by Vehicle in La Mirada

Elderly Woman Struck and Killed by Vehicle in La Mirada

La Mirada~An elderly woman was struck and killed by a vehicle this morning around 9:45 a.m. at the corner of Imperial Highway and La Mirada Blvd.

Lieutenant Rivera of the Norwalk Sheriff's Station said the accident occurred as the vehicle was exiting a driveway near the Shell gas station. He indicated the woman was traveling on the sidewalk when she was struck. No arrests were made at the scene and the accident remains under investigation.

La Mirada Blog Facebook fan, Monica Vasquez-Ashley reported that the lady was using a walker at the time of the incident, but that has not been confirmed.  Also, another fan, Rhonda Halstead seemed to indicate that the vehicle involved was actually a truck-again not verified.

Rivera did not release the name of the victim, only saying she was in her 80's. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
